Freedom Fighter Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal is the Former Member of Parliament and Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology. He is the Founder Chairman of Premier Group of Companies Ltd, The Premier Bank Limited, Premier Foundation & Premier Bank Foundation. Dr. H.B.M Iqbal is awarded the Honorary Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Specializing in Banking & Finance from Commonwealth University, UK. He successfully acquired Master Class Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from London Graduate School, UK and MBBS from University of Dhaka.
He has a diverse range of business interest in the field of Banking, Hotels & Resorts, Manufacturing, Cement, Distribution House, Aviation, Medical Centre, Education, Service Sector, Dredging, Construction, etc. Dr. Iqbal owns the franchisee of Renaissance Hotel, Dhaka, Bangladesh (Marriott Group) and Hilton Hotel, Dhaka, Bangladesh under Premier Hotels & Resorts Limited and Premier Hotel Management Company Limited respectively. In addition to his success in trade and business, he also established Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal education city to spread out the light of education at Bashgari, Kishoregonj, Bangladesh. School, College and University have already been established in the education city. In the planning of education city there are more nursing institute, medical college hospital, engineering college, Technical Development Centre, IT Park, sports academy and Sheikh Hasina Science and Technology University.
